Elbow Valley Cycle Club - About Us
The Elbow Valley Cycle Club (EVCC) was formed in 1983 to promote the enjoyment of on- and off-road
cycling in the Calgary area and to advocate and protect cyclists' rights and access to these facilities.
The club does not participate in any races but is strictly a bicycle touring club. The EVCC is a not-for-profit
organization run by volunteers. Our membership of approximately 650 members resides mainly in Calgary and area but
also extends to other provinces and the United States.
Mission
The EVCC's mission is to fulfill the bicycling related recreational, social and educational needs of its members and to use its influence to enhance and protect the rights of all bicyclists.
Values
- Bicycles are a viable form of transportation
- Bicycling promotes a healthy, active lifestyle
- Experienced members should mentor new members
- The quest for excellence in programs and services is continuous
- Safety and cooperation on the roads and trails is the responsibility of all users
