The LiveSplendidly – Guided Tour
Penticton, B.C., June 4th –
NOTE: WE STILL HAVE SPACE FOR SINGLES OR
COUPLES. A TRAINING PROGRAM IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR
REGISTRATION. This week-long cycling tour is intended to kick start
the outdoor season by enjoying the lovely surroundings of Penticton,
BC and area. All riders should be of sound health and will be
asked to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire prior
to registration. The riders must be relatively fit, but not
necessarily ‘race ready’. Registering early has
the added bonus of receiving indoor bike workouts to get you ready
for the tour.
This tour is not a competition in any way, shape or
form. The environment will be encouraging and
supportive… but don’t be fooled - you should expect to
be challenged! This is a mixed gender week that will allow for
up to 8 riders including 3 doubles and 2 singles due to
The tour will consist of the following:
Four to five days of guided riding with single rides ranging from 40-
110km in and around the Penticton area including rides to
Summerland, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, and Naramata. Tips on riding
technique, hill climbing, drafting and pacing will be discussed and
night’s accommodation in a vacation house with all the
amenities that may be required. There are 3 bedrooms that
can accommodate doubles and two rooms that are best suited for
singles. There are 2 full bathrooms, W/D, hot tub, large outside
deck for relaxing, dedicated ‘bike storage room’, on-
street parking, close to town for walking to local shops.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner prepared most days by your hosts so
that you may enjoy the week, relatively worry free. Dinner on
your own on three occasions, lunch - once.
o Meals will include healthy and hearty
hot and cold breakfasts, lunches may be on the road or at the house,
delicious evening meals, snacks and home baked cookies and
private yoga session at a local studio at the end of the day on two
Other recreational activities may include: wine touring, coffee
drinking, shopping or just some much needed RnR.

Colleen has spent many years cycling in this
region. As a former ride-guide with the Elitewave.com cycling
camp, now in its 22nd year, she knows the routes very
well, and the challenges that come with them. No one
will be left behind, ever.
Gord and Colleen will prepare delicious healthy meals
for you most days so that you may enjoy your time, between training
sessions. Riders with food allergies or special dietary
needs should contact us directly before registering. There are
some situations that we will not be able to accommodate.
Costs for Riders: $1535 double and
$1695 single (2 single rooms only) (a $500 non-refundable deposit is
required to hold your spot, remaining amount due April 1, 2017).

Itinerary – General
The following is the overall program however we will
make adjustments based on riders and weather.
Day 1 Sunday
– Arrive in Penticton after 2pm. Welcome and Dinner at
Day 2 Monday
– Skills and safety session followed by a ride to OK Falls via
Lakeside Road along Skaha Lake with diversion to McLean Creek
Road. Coffee shop stop an option. Lunch will be served
at the house. Afternoon available to enjoy on your own.
Wine tour recommendations may be provided. This ride covers 311m
elevation gain over 37km.
Day 3 Tuesday
– Apex Crossover. This loop ride will take us up to the
Apex Ranch along Green Mountain Road. A beautiful, quiet
road that takes us out to HWY 3 and up to Yellow Lake where lunch
will be provided. Following lunch, we will head back toward
Penticton with a detour at Twin Lake Golf Course. This road is
very quiet and will drop down through a beautiful meadows before
taking us back to into OK Falls and then take Lakeside Rd. back to
Penticton. A private yoga session will be provided in the late
afternoon before dinner. This ride covers 1313m elevation gain
Wednesday – Summerland and Faulder. After approximately
10km along HWY 97 into Summerland, we will climb into the hills of
the Summerland area and beyond to Faulder and Camp Boyle.
This is a challenging and nice out and back. This ride covers
906m elevation gain over 76km and has an alternate distance for
those looking for a shorter ride. A late lunch will be available
at the house.
Day 5 Thursday
– Naramata or Day Off. This is a beautiful ride from
Penticton to Naramata. Options include a simple out and back
on the main road or drop down into the quaint town of
Naramata. This is a great day to take advantage of some extra
time for RnR or wine touring. This ride covers 265m elevation gain
over 34km and can easily include a stop for coffee/tea. Lunch
at the house after the ride.
Day 6 Friday
– Black Sage ride. This is a wonderful way to finish off
the week. We will head south to Oliver and beyond.
Lunch will be delivered to us at a nice little park on a lake after which
we are homeward bound. This ride covers 882m elevation gain
over 105km and has an alternate distance for those looking for a
shorter ride. A private yoga session is planned the late
afternoon before dinner.
