Write Up:
Gorgeous day cycling west of Innisfail - sunny, 21C, no wind, green, yellow fields and minimal traffic. First passed over the Dickson dam opened in 1984 on the Red Deer river creating Glennifer Lake a great recreational, power generating, flood control facility. Then on to the Dickson area settled in 1903 by homesteading Danish families. Toured a Danish store museum filled with much memorabilia and which initially was the centre of the town commerce. Then down the road to a restaurant and many historical out buildings with a Danish connection. Lunch included Danish dishes & pastries. Highly recommend this ride and allow lots of time to tour and eat.
