Itinerary:
VOLUNTEER AT TOUR DE BOWNESS - we need your help.

Tour de Bowness - The Criterium is a speed race on a short circuit with the city streets closed to traffic. Racers reach speeds of up to 70 km/hr as they race on the circuit that loops from Bowness Rd, past Bow Cycle and back around the winding streets of the community of Bowness. This event is a crowd-favorite as the racers take the turns at high speed and the constant sprinting whips the crowd into a frenzy as riders compete for cash prizes known as lap primes (pronounced “preems”). Our unique course has the benefit of a chicane to test the skill of the riders as they ride the Bownesian pave.

EVCC will have a tent at the Tour de Bowness. We need volunteers to be at the tent to hand out promotional material and talk with spectators at the Tour de Bowness. We will have three shifts: 10 am to noon, noon to 2 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm with 2-3 volunteers for each shift. Please register for this event and E-mail budbren1@shaw.ca to let us know which shifts you would be available for.

Come out and help promote your club to others.

- Riders must be aware that cycling, while enjoyable and great exercise, carries some risks including injury and death. Riders must be alert for hazardous conditions/situations throughout the course of a ride. If at any time a rider thinks a ride is unsafe, or feels unsafe, the rider should quit the ride.
