Bike Maintenance for Newbys

Bring your bikes and learn some cycling self-reliance mechanical skills.

You'll learn how to perform an ABC quick mechanial check, how to clean and lube your chain and where to find good bike maintenance information on the internet

You'll learn what tools and supplies to bring and how to use them on the road side to fix a puncture, and adjust deraillures and brakes.

We're keeping the group size small so that everyone gets attention.

You will be working on your own bike with your own tools. If you have a workstand, bring it.

There is an additional parking lot if needed on the east side of the community hall.

(This is an adult course. We encourage you to take these skills home and teach your kids.)

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Don't forget your EVCC name badge. Don't have one? Check for Rennie Atkinson (who often comes to socials with the name tag machine) and he will make you one as you wait.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Find us on the main floor, in Nifty Fifties (turn left after you enter the building--we are in Founder's Hall).

- Most club rides include city streets, secondary roads and or major highways. The club encourages members to follow the rules of the road at all times while participating in EVCC events.
- Riders must be aware that cycling, while enjoyable and great exercise, carries some risks including injury and death. Riders must be alert for hazardous conditions/situations throughout the course of a ride. If at any time a rider thinks a ride is unsafe, or feels unsafe, the rider should quit the ride.
