Itinerary:
Park in Kings Creek picnic area on the east side of highway #40 just north of the turn off to Kananaskis Lakes Trail and before the closed gates to the pass. There may be parking restrictions on the highway so this may make car pooling advantageous if the parking spaces are all occupied. Although this is only 42 k in distance there is at least 750 m climbing some at 10+% grade. We will summit and descend to the south boundary of Peter Lougheed provincial park and perhaps a little beyond if the group so decides. We will stop for lunch / snack upon returning to the summit. Expect to have close encounters with mountain sheep and be truly impressed with the views afforded during your ride on the highest paved road in Canada!

Required Items to Bring:
A bicycle with good brakes! All the water you will need since there is no safe water source on the route.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Bug repellent and clothing for weather changes. Sufficient gear ratios to allow for climbing as described in the itinerary.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:west on TransCanada highway. Take the exit to highway #40 and travel south past Ribbon Creek and Wedge Pond to left turn into Kings Creek parking
