The Golden Triangle is our premier multi-day ride event. This annual, three day tour over the Victoria Day weekend in May, is held in a
beautiful part of the Rockies. The route describes a clockwise triangle between Castle Junction, Radium, Golden and back to Castle Junction
with distances each day just over 100 km.
The tour is not an endurance contest nor a race, but a recreational and social one. Any rider who is physically fit and can manage an
average speed of 15 kph over mountainous terrain will find the trip enjoyable. Four hundred cyclists participate each year, the maximum
Parks Canada permits.
Participants can camp in designated areas or stay in hotels in Radium and Golden. Food stops manned by volunteers are located along
the route. Plentiful breakfasts and dinners are provided. The Club has a baggage delivery service, and support vehicles with radio
communication, first aid and bicycle repair. Riders are expected to take clothing, a basic repair kit and other necessities for each day's ride.
The tour is open only to registered Club members; members under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The modest all-inclusive fee includes
camping facilities but not hotels. The ride is not posted on the calendar until late February or early March and usually has an "early-bird" pricing.
Registration is not open until the ride is officially posted.
