Ride Coordinator; - Peter Thurston

Difficulty; Moderate Intermediate. Climb out of river valley 4.5 times.

Distance; 44 km

This ride is a loop around the downtown core. We will ride on pathways, cycle tracks, and quiet streets. Moderate pace so we can take in the city sites.

A good opportunity to view the inner city from all 4 quadrants. There is a price to pay for the great views. We will climb out of the Bow river valley four and one half times so be prepared for the hills.

In July the gardens will be in full bloom and offer us a rainbow of colours.

Along the way we will see some interesting architecture and infrastructure including the new 17 Ave SE., bus and bike bridge. See photo below.

There are many choices for lunch and coffee. A picnic lunch at Edworthy Park will be our halfway stop. Angels Cafe is nearby for drinks coffee etc..

Directions to starting point.  We will meet at the playing fields on St Georges Dr NE.  This is in Nose Creek valley, north of the zoo and the Sparks Centre, and south of the 8 Ave NE bridge that goes over Deerfoot Trail.  ZOOM in on the map to see the exact location. Please arrive at the starting point 15 minutes prior to starting time.

The "NEW" 17 Ave SE Bus and Bike bridge.
