Road Ride: Advanced
Coordinator: Tanya Colwell
There are plenty of strong riders in the club, here is a long and beautiful ride. The secret is to eat and drink enough, aim for at least 5000 calories over the course of the day before the carbohydrate window closes. We'll stop for snacks several times.
We'll only go if the weather is good.
Legacy Trail to Banff, 1A to Lake Louise, a short ride up 93 to just past Herbert Lake, bike path from Parks booth to Lake Louise for lunch stop, return to Canmore.
Dinner in Canmore, arrangements TBA. When we leave the restaurant, there will be no food left :-)
This might be the last long ride of the season, enjoy!
Pace: 26+ km/hr. Days are getting shorter but with a decent pace we have some flexibility for things that arise. Be able to change a flat quickly or ride with someone who can. Please go over bike with attention to tires, brakes and cables.
Meet at Legacy Trail Parking lot Canmore at 8:40am. Ride at 9:00am.
There is NO sweep, but we will regroup at intersections. There are no major climbs.
John has room for 1 to car pool leaving from Calgary N Glenmore.
