Late summer tour of British Columbia's Gulf Islands

  • A traditionally dry time of year in this area

  • Visit the highest and longest rail/trail trestle in the Commonwealth

  • Cider & wine tasting; great food and cafes; Ganges Saturday market

  • We will ride a loop from Sidney (north of Victoria) - Schwartz Bay - Gulf Islands (Saltspring, Penders, Galliano and Mayne) - Vesuvious - Crofton - Chemainus - Duncan - Cowichan Lake - Genoa Bay - Cowichan Bay - Kinsol Trestle - Shawnigan Lake - Mill Bay - Brentwood Bay - Sidney

  • Day trip water taxi shuttles to Pender, Galiano and Mayne Islands from our base on Saltspring

  • Quiet but hilly roads

This is a reschedule of the cancelled trip in April and is contingent on the status of C-19 contagion in September.

The tour departs mid-day from Victoria Airport (Sidney) on Monday Sept 14 and arrives back in time to prep bikes for a late afternoon flight back to Calgary Wednesday September 23. Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Victoria.

A gear shuttle van will carry baggage between airport and from one accommodation to the next.  Usually a  bike shuttle from Calgary to Victoria (return) is be available for those who would like to fly, however that will depend on the availability of the airline option. Lockers are available at Victoria Airport to stow bicycle airline shipping cases.
