          ROAD RIDE - ADVANCED DISTANCE, HILLS AND PACE

Distance: 202.0 Km (option of 106km)
Pace: 23-27 kph
Elevation Gain: 2,074 m (or 306m)
Ride format: No sweep, limited stops

Route description: A brevet or randonnĂ©e is an organized long-distance cycling event, starting from 200km but can range up to 1400km over a period of several days. This is a 2020 ride of 202.0km, from Canmore visitor's centre on Legacy trail, then enjoying the Bow valley parkway with no vehicles, then continuing to Lake Louise and Hector Lake. Please let the coordinator know if you choose to do a shorter 106km distance, with the return at Castle junction. Long weekend -> long ride -> long life!

Parking and meeting spot:  Canmore Visitor's Centre

Arrive between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m.
Pre-ride huddle and safety moment at 8:15am
Wheels rolling at 8:30 a.m.  
Out of respect for those who arrive on time, we won't wait for latecomers.
Fuel stops
1) At 53km - snack stop at Castle junction (suggested time up to 15min)
2) At 80km - snack stop at Lake Louise village (suggested time up to 15 min)
3) At 101km lunch stop (bring your own lunch) and photo op at Hector Lake (suggested time no more than 30min)

4) At 150km snack stop at Castle junction (suggested time up to 15 min)

Apres-ride social in Canmore at appropriate social gathering distance (to be determined where)

Safety:
Please ensure your contact info is up to date in the EVCC system before the ride -- including your cell phone number and emergency contact. 
However, please note some parts of the route do not have cell service.

Bring your own tools, spare tubes, etc.

To manage the size of the group and physical distancing, we will split the group into two at the start.

Please note:  To cancel your registration, make sure you are signed into the system, click on the "already registered" button, then click the "Cancel Registration" button.
