I enjoyed this ride originally posted by Stan last week so I hope we can have a similar experience. This is the same ride as Maria has posted. Her start time is 10 a.m. and this ride starts at 10:30 a.m. This pace may be a bit faster.

From the Parking Lot, we head East on the 1A for 4.5 km, then North on 40 thru' Waiparous. At km 28, turn left on Richards Road, or you can add about 8 more k by turning right at this intersection and enjoy about 4 k of rolling pavement.

This is a scenic ride on quiet roads in the foothills.  A good spot to stop for lunch is on the south approach to the wooden bridge about 6 k from the turn around point.  I prefer to eat after we have turned around.  There will be no sweep.
