ROAD RIDE - LEVEL : Intermediate

Pace: 15-20 km/hr - For Ordinary Mortals - no one left behind.  

Elevation Gain: 594m

Enjoy the fall splendor of Mountainview County, north of Calgary.  We'll be climbing more as we head west - but we'll be rewarded with beautiful mountain views.       

Madden: We start and finish at the parking lot of the Madden Community Centre, immediately south of the Beaver Dam Golf Course parking lot.   There is a porta-john at the golf course.    Bring your lunch and plan to grab a coffee and a snack at the Water Valley General Store.   There are outhouses at the ball diamond across the street.    We'll head home and enjoy descending all those hills we worked so hard to climb.  

• Turn left onto Township Rd 290 - 0.9 km

• Continue straight onto AB-766 S - 2.5 km

• Continue onto Township Rd 290 - 4.1 km

• Continue onto Township Rd 290A - 7.1 km

• Continue onto Range Rd 35A - 9.9 km through beautiful downtown Dogpound!

• Turn left onto Township Rd 292 - 11.8 km

• Turn right onto Range Rd 52 - 25.2 km

• Turn left onto AB-579 W - 28.4 km - Water Valley General Store

• Turn right onto Range Rd 52 - 29.1 km

• Turn left onto Township Rd 292 - 32.4 km

• Turn right onto Range Rd 30 - 55.1 km - watch for border collie!  

• Madden Community Centre - 60 km

These roads are generally quiet - however the farmers are busy with harvest.  We'll watch for farm machinery and pull over to let them pass if necessary.
