Description:  Enjoy the scenery on Highway 40, and ascend the highest paved road in Canada from the North Side. About half the ride is above the winter gate, with no cars on that section of the road (shown on map). The map attached shows the start at Wedge Pond but to confirm the start point is Evan Thomas Rec Area which is the turnoff on the left before Wedge.

Please come prepared with clothing for changeable mountain weather conditions. We will be gaining significant elevation -- even on a nice day, it will be colder higher up and the long descent can be very chilly. 

Parking: Start from Evan Thomas day use area -- it's a nice spot for a tailgate social after the ride.
