STAMPEDE RIDE ON HORSE CREEK ROAD: Intermediate and Advanced

Coordinators: Heather Opseth and Greg Pastirik

Distance: 60 km

Pace: 23-27 km/h

Elevation Gain: 350 m

Meeting place: Mountain Ridge Plaza, Cochrane (Corner of Bow Valley Trail and Horse Creek Road)

Wheels rolling @ 9:30 a.m. - please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can start on time

Let's celebrate Stampede week with a scenic loop through ranching country. Up Grand Valley Road (to the Northern end), then back down Horse Creek Road.

Intermediate and advanced riders welcome - we will split into smaller groups for different paces and regroup at main intersections.

We encourage socializing after the ride, tailgate-style. Please bring lawn chairs, snacks and shade.

Music Notes: Hopefully the ride won't live up to the "Four Strong Winds" theme song! But this can admittedly be a windy area and the song is a beautiful Canadian classic country folk tune that even mentions Alberta! Originally written and sung by Ian and Sylvia Tyson in 1961, copied by many artists since. Listen on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjfTDPhMdTk
