I'm sure everyone is wondering about the smoke levels and whether the ride will occur.

Smoke levels are not high enough to cancel or reschedule my son's soccer game in the CMSA league this evening and I didn't notice anyone having problems.

According to Alberta Health, the level forecast for tomorrow morning is moderate which means that at-risk people with heart/lung conditions should consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous activities. Others should consider reducing strenuous activities if the smoke causes throat irritation or coughing.

The ride is meant to be an easy pace rather than a strenuous pace.

The current air quality forecast is for some improvement by tomorrow morning. If the level at 7:30 am is high (7 or higher), I will cancel. Regardless, everyone can make their own decisions based on their own risk assessment.

We will explore the West Bragg Creek and Wintergreen areas starting from Bragg Creek in an easy 35 km ride. First we will ride to Wintergreen and follow the lollipop to return back to the bridge. Then we will ride out to West Bragg Creek and stop for lunch. On the return to Bragg Creek, we will explore the scenic lollipop of the Wild Rose Close side road, and end with a tailgate party.

I enjoy cycling the foothills around Bragg Creek and the Elbow Valley along highway 66. We will keep this ride shorter and easier and enjoy the highlights of the Bragg Creek area on the west side of the Elbow River.
