Going with the theme of Stampede week, we chose "Alberta: a little bit of heaven" by Mary Kieftenbeld to match this ride. In 2005, Kieftenbeld was the winner of an Alberta Provincial Song contest for her song Alberta.   The song reflects the spirit of Alberta and Albertans , celebrating its diversity and  a positive view of Alberta:

Distance:  55 km

Level:  Easy to intermediate , mostly flat with a couple of hills.

Directions : Highway 2 north to exit 368 into Innisfail highway 590, continue thru Innisfail to stop sign, turn right onto Highway 54, continue until big green sign that says Sylvan lake, turn right onto highway 781, continue to stop sign, turn left onto highway 11, take first turn to the right, then first turn right onto Memorial trail, then first left onto Lakeway Boulevard gravel parking lot left side just past  Condos on the left and at the play ground sign.

Bathroom at the end of parking lot.

The driving time is about 10 minutes more than going to Red Deer.
