Parkway to Pint!

One of the most beautiful and scenic places to ride is Banff National Park, and Hwy 1A is closed from Hwy 1 to Johnson Canyon (and very little traffic north of Castle Junction). 117km from Fenlands Rec Centre in Banff, or start at Canmore Visitor Center at 9 and make it a full century. 

Meet at Fenlands at 9:45 for a 10:00 start. Lunch on the patio at Banded Peak Base Camp (Lake Louise Ski Resort). Less crowds, great views (last time I saw a bear), free beer (can, to go) and T-Shirt if you show your Strava/Garmin on the patio. There is even a bike corral for parking! You are also free to bring your own snacks and lunch and either sit on the lawn or at the tables by the lodge. Bathrooms and water available in the lodge too.

Return the way we came (its slightly easier on the way back) or ride to LL townsite and take Roam Transit back to Banff (bus at 1:30 and 3:30).   

Note:

• This is an advanced distance - 117 km
• This will be a faster (23-27 kmh) intermediate pace. Only regrouping at LL. There is no sweep. If you can't ride 4+ hours at that pace, you will get dropped. 
• Wheels roll at 10 sharp. Out of respect to those who arrive on time, we won't wait for late arrivals. 
• There are sections with no cell phone coverage, only a few bathroom/water options along the route. Its a long distance without support. Be self sufficient.
• E-Bikes are welcome, but we may end up drafting behind you ;-P
