This week's theme is "FALL COLOURS" and also works with last week's "In Case You Missed It" theme from the previous weeks.

The forecast is for a cool morning and I've elected a little later start of 11:00 am. Temperature in the morning at sunrise could be below 0 but the day will warm up nicely.

This was a very popular ride last year and again this year.

From the Ghost Lake parking lot, we head East on 1A for 4.5 km, then north and northwest on 40 through Waiparous. At km 28, turn left on Richards Road and cycle to the end of the pavement. As an option, at the intersection with Richards Road, you can turn right and continue on 40 to the end of the pavement, about 4 km, before turning around and proceeding on Richards road.  Return home on 40 and 1A the way you came.

This is a scenic ride on quiet roads in the foothills.  A good spot to stop for lunch is on the south approach to the wooden bridge about 6 k from the turn around point on Richards Road.  There will be no sweep. We will have a tailgate party in the parking lot at the end of the ride.

Safety

Cell service is dodgy on parts of the route.

The shoulders are narrow but the traffic is generally light on weekdays.

There are no services. Pack food and water and have a bicycle in good repair with tools you know how to use.
