Hayride Fondo!

Hayride Fondo is our new club event with the rides originating from the Silverado community. We will cycle through beautiful landscapes South of Calgary towards Dewinton and Okotoks areas, with the vast fields of hay bales and distant views of the mountains.

Did you know?

Nebraskan Ummo F. Leubben invented the first modern baler in 1903 and patented it in 1910. Leubben's machine gathered the hay, rolled it into a large round bale, tied it and ejected it from the machine. In 1940 he sold the rights to Allis-Chalmers, which adapted his ideas to develop its Roto-Baler, released in 1947.

Our Hayride Fondo will offer two intermediate and one advanced rides. Please register for one of the following:

1) Hayride Light- 62km Silverado/Nepal/Okotoks/DeWinton

2) Hayride Backroads -66km Silverado/DeWinton/Okotoks

3) Hayride Long - 96km Silverado/Nepal//Okotoks/Dewinton

Meeting place/parking: 

All road rides start/finish at Silverado Community, Parking lot in front of Shoppers Drug Mart (19369 Sheriff King St SW)

Apres-ride social: Join us after the ride for social Kildares Ale House, located in the same plaza as the starting point for the rides (19369 Sheriff King St SW #1202). Please ensure you have a designated driver for after, if needed.

What if the weather is bad? The event will be cancelled or rescheduled.
