Meet at the Minnewanka parking lot at 10:00, ride 16 km to the rangers' cabin, have a lunch break and ride 16 km back to the parking lot. Riding time is 3-4 hours.

The trail has just one climb and descent. Otherwise it is a twisty, undulating, single-track with lots of roots and rocks. The trail follows the lakeshore. Some sections have a slide-slope. See https://www.trailforks.com/trails/minnewanka for a description.

Riders should be experienced with long, rough trails (roots, rocks, creek crossings, washouts, logs). Difficulty is moderate to difficult. You can turn around anywhere before getting to the rangers' cabin. The first kilometre of the trail is usually mucky.

Electric bikes aren't allowed on Banff Park trails.
