Meet at the Banff Train Station (huge new parking lot just east of the station), ready to ride at 12 noon.

We’ll do 3 out and backs - Vermilion Lakes Road to the end of the pathway; to Sundance Canyon via paved pathway, with a short 10 min hike to the waterfall; and to the Banff Springs Golf Course via Bow Falls on pathway and quiet road.                                                                              

After the ride, join us at the Banff Canoe Club (corner of Wolf St and Bow Ave) for an hour of paddling on Vermilion Lakes.  Rentals are $50 per boat for the 1st hour (canoe, or single/double kayak), and $30 for the 2nd hour.  Third person in a canoe is an additional $15. 

Bring:

  • suitable footwear/sandals for the short hike (easy, but some elevation gain), and for paddling
  • lunch/snacks/water
  • bear spray
  • dry bag, if you have it
  • Banff National Park Pass
