(Cancelled) Headlamp Skiing

Level:  beginner, intermediate

Meeting place:  in the corner of the parking lot, at the entrance to the stadium at 6:45pm, please arrive earlier to setup. Shifting the start time to 6:45pm to avoid the conflict with Foothills club start time.

Description:

Please join us for a social ski. All types of levels, classic or skate skiing. We will ski on the groomed trails. Depending upon your skis and skills we might have to separate into smaller group, hopefully you can find a ‘buddy’ of your level to ski with. 

Please bring a bright head lamp to see the trails in the darker parts of the park.  Also, dress warm as it gets colder quickly once the sun goes down.

We hope to run this event every Wednesday snow and weather permitting. In case of the cancellation, we will notify you by email by noon on Wednesday (check your email)

About Confederation Park:

Confederation park ski tracks are maintained by volunteers through snow harvesting (which is a fancy word for "shovelling"). Although skiing at local golf courses and parks is free for all Calgarians local club operators must cover all the costs through various fundraising initiatives. The current conditions are good for skate and classic skiing, especially if you enjoy double polling. For absolute beginners, the tracks are somewhat icy and fast. Hope the snow will stay until Jan 18th.
