Griffiths Woods, Wentworth, Patterson 32

Ride Level:  Urban ride, newcomers and intermediate, easy pace.

Route description:

We start by touring the lengths of Griffiths Woods and Discovery Ridge, then riding north on the paths of Springbank Hill, Aspen Woods, Wentworth, and Cougar Ridge. We stop for lunch next to a lake, then we travel east on the bluffs of Patterson, overlooking the city. We ride along the Greenway next to Sarcee Trail and return to Griffiths Woods on pathways. Several short ups and downs (gain 211m.)

Location: Griffiths Woods main parking lot at the foot of Discovery Ridge Link SW.

Operations

• The ride will have a co-leader, a sweep, employ radios, and regroup at intervals. No one will be left behind. 
• Bring lunch, snacks, and water. 
• Bring a mask and sanitizer if you wish.
• Take your route recording device for more enjoyment and the possibility of leading this ride or a suitable variant next year. 
• It will be helpful if you arrive 15 minutes before the start for bike preparation, meet and greet, and a quick safety drill.
• E-Bikes are welcome.

Notification and Registration: The system will notify all Friday events and open them for rider registration ONE week beforehand.

Non-members are welcome as guests. They must fill out the waiver on our website under the Join Us/Guest Waiver and email it to guest@elbowvalleycc.org. Members can sponsor and register one guest. Unsponsored guests will be registered as guests of the coordinator after receipt of their waivers.

Waitlist: If you find the ride filled, you are encouraged to put your name on the waitlist. The chances are that you will replace a cancellation done automatically.

Cancellation: Suppose you are signed up and find you have to cancel. Please do so as soon as you know to leave space for someone else.  Suppose it is necessary to cancel because of weather or another reason. In that case, I will notify you on this page and by Email or telephone by 8 am on the event day.
