Note: Registration for this event will open Friday May 19.
Heather Glen Golf Course to Chestermere Lake 34
Ride Level: Urban ride, newcomers and intermediate, easy pace.
Coordinator: Peter Bradbury
The route starts at the golf course, travels northeast beside the Western Irrigation Canal, and goes around Lake Chestermere on pathways, through parks and greenways, and beside canals (Gain 88m.)
The Chestermere Lake circuit begins by bordering its south side to the east. It turns north past the Kinniburg lakes, East Chestermere, and The Cove, following neighborhood pathways. We curl around the lake's northern tip to arrive at John Peake Memorial Park on the west side for a picnic lunch. We continue south through Westmere, circle the golf course and a large bike park, and ride up a knoll to the Rainbow Falls for a view. We return to the irrigation canal for the finish back to the golf course.
Location: HeatherGlen Golf Course, Glenmore Trail and 100 St. East (RR285), 2 km east of Stoney Trail. Plan on staying a short while in the clubhouse for a coffee or refreshments at the finish.
- The ride will have a co-leader, a sweep, employ radios, and regroup at intervals. No one will be left behind.
- Bring lunch, snacks, and water.
- Bring a mask and sanitizer if you wish.
- Take your route recording device for more enjoyment and the possibility of leading this ride or a suitable variant next year.
- It will be helpful if you arrive 15 minutes before the start for bike preparation, meet and greet, and a quick safety drill.
- E-Bikes are welcome.
