The Meadowbrook Trail connects the Villages of Irricana and Beiseker along a disused railway right of way and has gone through the process of being handed over to Trail-Net (Trans Canada Trail), securing funding for rebuilding bridges and finally getting the support of the County of Rockyview (despite concerns from adjacent farmers).

This ride will start in Irricana where we can meet and park at Trailhead.    We will access the trail, ride past Pioneer Acres Museum and  then along the Trail.  We cross the Rosebud River and Crossfield Creek before arriving at Beiseker.  The trail is packed gravel but you will be wanting to ride on wider tires just to be  sure.  It's only 10km to Beiseker and of course, being a railway route, it's flat and hard packed in almost all places with a few softer sandy spots.

The organizing committee has sent our Club a special presentation as we have supported Trail Net for many years and made a special presentation to the Rocky View County Council as the Trail Committee sought permission to develop the trail.

We will participate in the celebrations at each end of the Trail

Riders  who want to do a long ride may choose their own extension to this journey north to Acme (10KM) and on to Linden (10 KM). on reasonably quiet highway.  Or they may wish to park in Airdrie and ride out to Irricana 30 km and back after the opening.
