This is a chance to ride west of Calgary with very little traffic for part and none for the rest of it.
The intersection of highway 22 and Springbank Rd. is closed due to construction. This results in us being able to ride within 100m of this corner before reversing course with only an occasional construction vehicle joining us west of RR #33.
The north south out and back section on RR #40 is freshly paved and closed to traffic as well.
All roads are paved and where the map shows otherwise is incorrect. We can't compare to the group riding west from Diamond Valley today for fall colours but we do see some and the field crops and unobstructed news of the mountains make this a delight for the eyes for sure.
We will be stopping at the Springbank Recreation Centre for a bio break and there are two port a potties along RR #40 as well.
Parking spot is the Eden Brook Funeral Home, off Lower Springbank Road. Please park in the northeast section. There is a grassy patch for our tailgating nearby.
