Ride Level:  Urban ride, newcomers and intermediate, easy pace.

Coordinator:  Gary Davidge

Route description:

Starting just north of the Telus Spark Science Centre, the route heads to Tom Campbell Hill for a city view and then goes through the old, treed Bridgeland community. We pass the Ukrainian church and get more views from the bluff on Crescent Road. We cycle north through Confederation Park and other greenspace and follow the 14 Street  NW pathway as far as Berkshire Boulevard. The Beddington pathway runs along a valley leading into the Nose Creek path, which we follow downhill south to the finish. (Gain 254m.)

Location: Small parking lot just north of the Spark Telus Science Centre on the east side of St. George's Drive. A toilet is available there.

Operations

  • The ride will have a co-leader, a sweep, employ radios, and regroup at intervals. No one will be left behind.
  • Bring lunch, snacks, and water.
  • Take your route recording device for more enjoyment and the possibility of leading this ride or a suitable variant next year.
  • It will be helpful if you arrive 15 minutes before the start for bike preparation, meet and greet, and a quick safety drill.
  • E-Bikes are welcome.

Notification and Registration: The system will notify all Friday events and open them for rider registration ONE week beforehand.

Non-members are welcome as guests. They must fill out the waiver on our website under the Join Us/Guest Waiver and email it to guest@elbowvalleycc.org. Members can sponsor and register one guest. Unsponsored guests will be registered as guests of the coordinator after receipt of their waivers.

Waitlist: If you find the ride filled, you are encouraged to put your name on the waitlist. The chances are that you will replace a cancellation done automatically.

Cancellation: Suppose you are signed up and find you have to cancel. Please do so as soon as you know to leave space for someone else.  Suppose it is necessary to cancel because of weather or another reason. In that case, I will notify you on this page and by Email or telephone by 8 am on the event day.

See you. Peter
