Starting from the North Fork Provincial Recreation (West of Millarville) we will head east back towards millarville and then north to highway 546 (Sheep River) on gravel roads.  Then west to the Gorge creek trailhead (paved for the highway portion).

The best is saved for last and we ride the old Gorge Creek Trail back to the cars.

The first 2/3 of the loop are a mix of paved and gravel roads.  Gorge creek itself is generally in good shape but there are some areas of loose rock and water damage.

38mm or 1.5 inch tires (or more) are recommended but studded are not really required.  As there is no facilities on the route please make sure that your bike is in good repair.

Also make sure that you are carrying a good amount of food, water and clothing for the day.  Bear spray is also recommended.

Starting : The North Fork Provincial Recreation Area is a campground and we park off the road and before the entrance itself. Jenny and I will be in a black honda fit.

As can be seen in the profile, there are some steep climbs on this route and that a breakdown on the crux would lead to some hours of bike pushing.
