MacEwan Glen NW Loop 32km

Ride Level: Newcomers to intermediate.

Route description: 

This is 32km ride from the community of MacEwan down to Creekside, through Evanston along Simons Valley Parkway to Carrington onto the Rotary Mattamy Greenway through open fields to cross over Stoney Trail into Coventry Hills stopping at Country Hills Village Pond for lunch.  After lunch we ride through Panatella and Hidden Valley back to MacEwan.  This is a hilly ride with some nice downhills throughout.  Total elevation is 300m.

If you need a washroom on arrival my home is available.  The first public washroom is about 15 minutes into the ride, then at McDonalds in Carrington and one at Country Hills Village.

Location: Drive to 56 MacEwan Ridge Gate NW. (Google link:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/Yaq2LpqjDWM4mzTS6 ) and park on street.  There is a cul-de-sac at the end of the street with more room.

Operations

• The ride will have a sweep and regroup at intervals. No one will be left behind. 
• Bring lunch, snacks, and water. 
• It will be helpful if you arrive 15 minutes before the start for bike preparation, meet and greet, and a quick safety drill.
• E-Bikes are welcome.

Non-members are welcome as guests. They must fill out the waiver on our website under the Join Us/Guest Waiver and email it to guest@elbowvalleycc.org. Members can sponsor and register one guest. Unsponsored guests will be registered as guests of the coordinator after receipt of their waivers.

Waitlist: If you find the ride filled, you are encouraged to put your name on the waitlist. The chances are that you will replace a cancellation done automatically.

Cancellation: Suppose you are signed up and find you have to cancel. Please do so as soon as you know to leave space for someone else.  Suppose it is necessary to cancel because of weather or another reason. In that case, I will notify you on this page and by Email or telephone by 8 am on the event day.
