Volunteers make the Golden Triangle possible. They donate their time and sometimes endure chilly weather to help participants enjoy their 3 day ride.
Volunteers get a lot of love from participants. They receive free accommodation and meals during the event. After the event, we award them with a stipend as a minor gesture of our appreciation.
Volunteers don’t have to be members. We will assign them guest status for the duration of the GT. Participant’s spouses and family members make great volunteers.
Volunteers help pickup, drive and drop off the rental vehicles (vans and cube trucks)
We need able bodies to move canopies, tables, food serving equipment and food into vehicles starting Thursday afternoon then return the gear after the event.
The food crew set up the rest stops along the route (tables and canopies) then cut up and serve food. Some dish washing and cleanup is needed before putting it all back in the vans and setting off for the next rest stop. Some shopping may be necessary in Radium and Golden.
Rovers keep an eye on the riders making sure no one is left behind or stranded with a mechanical on the road side. They carry lunches for late riders who miss the rest stop open times. On Friday evening, they shuttle participants back and forth between the hotel and Radium Hot Springs. Rovers also help with set up and tear down of rest stops when needed.
The luggage shuttle volunteers lock and unlock the luggage truck, roll out the ramp, keep track of community tire pumps and supervise baggage loading by the participants. They keep logs of the participants at the start location and get the luggage to the end point each day by the appointed time.
If you are interested in helping with the GT, please sign up here. This volunteer “event” is open to the public.
