Icefields Parkway 3 days, Int, 280km, SueGillies

 ROAD RIDE - LEVEL INTERMEDIATE

Distance:  About 280 km over 3 days

Pace:  About 20 kmph

Elevation Gain:  we're in the mountains

The plan is to stay at the Crossing Resort at Saskatchewan River Crossing for two nights (June 8th and 9th) and do out-and-back day rides from there.  Rides can be:  north to the Icefields Centre, south to Peyto Lake, east on the David Thompson Highway, or the section of the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise to Peyto Lake.  Details to be determined closer to the date. 

The reason I'm posting this ride at this time is that there is a decent deal for accommodation at The Crossing Resort, but only in June.  Rates differ for the Queen Standard Room, Mountain View and King Room.  The number of rooms are limited at this late date.    Reservations need to be made by individual participants.  The weather forecast looks good for Sunday - Tuesday.  

All riding can be done pretty much at your own pace.  My pace is rather slow, but I'll get there.....  The scenery cannot be beat!  Hopefully there won't be too many rental RVs on the road yet.  .
