Let’s add to the classic ride up the Elbow River on Highway 66 to Forget Me Not Pond by stopping for ICE CREAM at Ida May’s Creamery.

This version ride starts at Bragg Creek Provincial Park (NOT the community centre in Bragg Creek), heads up Route 66 to Forget-me-not Pond.

Limited stops, no sweep - we will regroup at key milestones (Summit). We will stop at the Forget-me-Not Pond day use area to soak in the scenery of the pond and to enjoy the view.

At Bragg Creek Prov Park there are parking spots, washrooms in the second half of the lot.  Please drive into there to meet the group.  Also less dust on your car in there.

On the return we will go past the Provincial Park to Ida May’s for ice cream provided by the “Club”.  Then we will ride back to the park approx 2km to the cars.

Safety:

The road is open to traffic but on a Tuesday it will be relatively light.

Be prepared for self-support. Bring a pump, patch kit, tools, spare tubes, etc.

Its going to be a warm day ensure you have 2 bottles of water,

Steep descents. Watch for gravel on the shoulders. 

There are several cattle guards to ride over.  They do have a strip to stay on to make it easier crossing them.
