Dreaming of cycling season? So are we. While you wait for the snow to melt, gear up with this guessing game.

All of the photos below were taken either during an EVCC ride, or on a familiar EVCC route. How many can you identify? Share your guesses by clicking on the three vertical dots at the top left of this blog post, and selecting "add comment". Be as specific as possible and let us know if you have any great memories of riding these routes.

    #1 is on Elbow Valley's Lott Creek Dr. with the local fire station in the background. Many years this is the first organized ride for me where the roads are clean, little traffic and a lovely view west as a reward at the west end.

      That’s correct! It’s also a nice side route in the summer on the way home from Bragg Creek along Highway 8.

    #9 Bow falls in Banff. Usually done as a tour of Banff where this stop was before or after doing the Banff Golf Course loop.

    Thanks. Some of the following rides are guesses:

    #3 Either West Bragg Creek Hills and Backroads, Millarville 40, or South of Priddis

    #10 Either a Water Valley or Ghost Waiparous ride

    #17 A ride that includes Lochend Road. By slough/lake on Lochend Road

    #21 Yes, definitely not the gazebo in Turner Valley. May be Madden, Water Valley, Cremona ride. Gazebo in Cremona park

    #24 Springbank 55. Springbank Height Way down into the Bow River Valley.

      #17 - That is a pretty good guess but still not correct!
      #21 - You are so close, but none are correct
      #24 - Yes, you got it -- the ironically named "Springbank Heights" which goes straight DOWN to the river. :)

      You have a great knowledge of our rides, with many correct answers. I am glad you recognized yourself in photo #5 :)
      Yes, #25 is an evening ride around Glenmore Reservoir, on the South side coming around the headwall, looking towards the sailing club.
      Try again on #3.
      #21 - I know you have been there... it may come to you.
      I also know you have ridden past #17 which you didn't mention.

      You got #3, well done. Still not the correct gazebo for #21. There is yet another town north of Calgary you haven’t named!

    #10 - I am familiar with most of the roads near Plummer's Road and considering the community centre type building, the paved parking lot, the curve in the road in the distance, the pavement, and the trees, shown in the picture, I can't recall the location.

    #17 - After reviewing the rides that may have routes about 30 km from Lochend Road, and Google Maps for roads that cross sloughs, about 30 km from Lochend Road, the location is still a mystery to me. My excuse is that I rarely ride on routes NW of the city.

    #21 Definitively the Crossfield to Carstairs Square ride and the Carstairs Memorial Park gazebo!

      Hi Geoff,

      #10 is is heading south into Priddis from Highway 22X on Priddis Valley road.
      #17 is Grand Valley Road.
      #21 Yes, you got it!
